Seven Random Facts About Me
Ann Aguirre tagged me to blog 7 random facts about myself on Thursday. I'm just getting around to it now. Better late than never, right?
- I know the place of purchase and price of every article of clothing I own, no matter how long ago I got it. If I bought it on sale, I can also tell you the original price and how much I saved.
- I love fabric. I am, in fact, a fabric whore, known to wander the aisles of fabric stores across Los Angeles admiring the color and weave of wares I rarely purchase. Bonus: every story I've ever written contains at least one fairly detailed description of fabric--the material, the color, the weave, the pattern or the dye-process.
- I am just under six feet tall.
- The reason I use a lot of exclamation points in my blog posts and comments? I really talk that way. Really!
- I love false/created spaces. Las Vegas, Disneyland, miniature golf courses, malls built to look like 19th century European or American towns, odd little houses around LA that look like hobbit houses or castles or pagodas.
- I'm fascinated with trains. From 19th Century steam engines, to 20th century trollies, to Angel's Flight (Los Angeles's late, and much missed funicular rail line) to subways to light rail. Trains are cool.
- I am almost unbeatable at "Connect 4"

As a die-hard shopper to my core this is very impressive to me. You have given me a challenge. Because I honestly think I can do some of this, except for the remember exactly how much I saved. I can tell you where I got it and how much it cost and how long I had it and how I really got my money's worth. But I can never remember the original price and how much I actually saved.

I'm a mediocre seamstress. My sewing machine is just an excuse for my fabric collection. Same as my knitting needles are an excuse for my yarn collection.
I know exactly what you mean. What is it about fabric and yarn? Potential? It's like going into staples or office depot and seeing all the pencils and paper and crayons. I want it all for no good reason. Almost better than the finished object.
I had you pegged as short, but I think that's because your avatar which looks cute and short.
Ooh, Office Supplies! Get the behind me Satan! Another huge source of temptation.

The only accurate thing about my avatar was the hair cut, which my husband said made me look like an anime character. That was two haircuts ago. I should draw a new one. Or, better yet, find a photo I like...which ain't gonna happen.
